Sodium Humate – Important Effects on Animal Feeding

Sodium Humate contains many minerals and trace elements such as calcium, iron, sodium, phosphorus, zinc, iodine, etc. It is non-toxic, odorless, non corrosive, and extremely soluble in water. Its aqueous solution is soy color colloid, which is slightly alkaline. The pH value of pure humic acid sodium is 8-9.5.

Sodium humate has a wide range of functions in livestock and poultry feeding:

1、 Promote the activation and absorption of feed ingredients:
Due to its large molecular weight, sodium humate can also synthesize larger particles in a certain medium, so it has colloidal properties and adsorption capacity, forming good ion exchange and catalysis, and promoting the activation and absorption of feed ingredients. Therefore, sodium humate can play a role in increasing gastrointestinal function, increasing appetite, reducing the odor of livestock and poultry feces, reducing the ammonia in the enclosure, stimulating the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract, inhibiting the propagation of putrefactive bacteria, fully absorbing mineral elements and multiple vitamins in the feed, brightening livestock and poultry fur, and fattening.

2、 Regulation of endocrine function of livestock and poultry:
Sodium humate can stimulate the secretion of some glands, inhibit sympathetic nerves, cause lethargy, and increase the time for animals to sleep or be quiet, which is conducive to energy storage of livestock and poultry and improves feed conversion rate. At the same time, sodium humate can activate the function of pituitary adrenal cortex, promote the secretion of ACTH, increase the secretion of estrogen, and stimulate the balance of thyroid.

3、 Antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects:
Sodium humate is a macromolecular complex and contains alkaloids, so it has a strong adsorption capacity for intestinal inflammatory substances and toxic substances, and has a convergence effect on intestinal mucosa. In addition, because sodium humate structure contains various active groups, it can contract blood vessels, reduce capillary permeability, and play an anti-inflammatory and hemostatic role. Moreover, under the action of various enzymes, the active group in sodium humate molecule can decompose more primary oxygen, showing bactericidal effect.

4、 Antiviral effect
Sodium humate can denature viral protein and inhibit reverse transcriptase activity, thus producing antiviral and inhibiting viral synthesis.

5、 Promoting wound healing
Humic acid sodium has a good effect on removing putrefaction, generating muscle, stopping bleeding and promoting wound healing for soft wound purulent infection.

6、 Improve the immune function of livestock and poultry
Sodium humate can enhance immune organs, excite non-specific immune function, have the effect similar to phytohemagglutinin (PHA), and participate in cellular immunity
